PHRSE

The journey so far….

At Ulceby St Nicholas C of E Primary school we deliver high quality PSRHE lessons which aim to support children in:

  • Understanding how their lifestyle can help them to stay physically healthy.
  • Having positive wellbeing, understanding emotions, what may cause them      and how to manage them effectively
  • Understanding how to be safe both online, physically and mentally.
  • Understanding what constitutes a healthy relationship.
  • Promoting tolerance by understanding differences encompassing the 9 protected characteristics set out in the Equality Act of 2010

We do this by following the Jigsaw scheme for PSRHE which covers all of these elements at an age appropriate level through six half-termly ‘jigsaw pieces’: Being Me In My World; Celebrating Difference; Dreams and Goals; Healthy Me; Relationships and Changing Me. These are explained in more detail in the documents below.

Sex and relationships education in school is also supported by annual workshops from Big Talk Education. Big Talk Education deliver class workshops at an age appropriate level as well as offering a parent session to support parents in understanding what their child will learn in school and how to talk to them about it.
