It is our school policy that every pupil should wear uniform at school and when participating in school-organised events off the school premises or outside of normal hours.
Through specifying a school uniform for our pupils, it is our intention to:
Uniform featuring the school logo is available online from www.myclothing.com and the school office can provide leaflets and information about this. However, there is no requirement to wear the logo and cheaper, practical alternatives are readily available in a range of shops and supermarkets.
In the summer months this may also include:
We ask that all pupils wear flat, plain black shoes which are comfortable and practical for playing outside. Platform soles and high heels are not permitted. For health and safety reasons all school shoes must have closed toes: we cannot allow sandals or flip flops.
Unless there is very heavy rain or snow, pupils play outside every day at school. Please ensure that your child brings appropriate outerwear for the time of year every day. For example a warm, waterproof coat, gloves and hat for winter; a sun hat and light shower proof jacket for warmer weather.
Pupils should bring their PE kit to school on a Monday and it should remain in school throughout the week. They should be prepared for indoor PE and outdoor PE as follows.
Indoor PE
Outdoor PE
It is advisable to also send a spare, clean pair of socks in you child’s PE bag.
Due to health and safety reasons, jewellery is not permitted in school. This is with the exception of a small pair of stud earrings and a sensible watch (not a smart watch with photo capability). Earrings must be removed for PE or taped over with medical tape which must be provided from home. School staff are not able to remove earrings for children so please ensure that this is practised at home or that medical tape is provided.
Make up and nail varnish must not be worn at school.
It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that their child has the correct school uniform, PE kit and outerwear every day. Uniform should be kept in a state of good repair, be clean and clearly labelled with the child’s name.
If a family has difficulty in providing this for any reason, we ask that they speak confidentially with a senior member of staff who will be able to support.
We always welcome donations of clean, second-hand uniform in a good state of repair.
